The City of Parker established the water authority in 1987. From that time until September 1999, the City handled the sewage as Parker City Sewage Authority. In 1999, the system was expanded to include Northeast Parker
Township (Butler County) and the system was turned over to the Parker Area Authority. Today it serves 350 residential and 20 commercial customers.
The mission of the Parker Area Authority is to supply quality water and sewage service to the City of Parker and Northeast Parker Township while keeping its rates as low as possible for its customers. Since 1992, the City has allocated a large portion of its Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements to the water and sewage system, saving the City’s residents from greatly increased water bills.
